Hi, I'm Kimberly Anne, originally from California. After forty years of working two full-time jobs, I realized I was spinning my wheels and going nowhere.

My lifelong dream was to live in Europe and in 2022, I made it happen, all on my own.

In California, my overhead was $10,000 a month, including a brick-and-mortar business. Even without the business, just existing in the US ran $5,000 a month. I couldn't afford to go out or have hobbies beyond hiking. My life had gotten very small, and I knew I had to get off the lifelong hamster wheel.

So I quit my job, got rid of everything I owned and spent a year traveling the US solo in a van. After that year I moved to Europe where I now live for a fraction of what it cost me to live back in my home country. Along the way I've learned there are dozens of other places in the world where you can do the same.

I know exactly how scary it is to sell your things and move somewhere you don't know anyone and don't speak the language. It's also the best thing I've ever done. Instead of living to work, I now work to live. I have balance, a community I love, and a whole new continent to explore.

I built this course to give you the map I had to draw for myself the hard way, so you don't have to.

No. It's for anyone who wants to move abroad without making expensive mistakes. The money principles are really about smart resource management, and that matters whether you're working with $2,000 a month or $10,000. Budgeting is just one piece. The bigger system covers logistics, downsizing, visas, and building a new community from scratch.
What's the least I could live abroad on?
I have one friend living abroad on $700 a month, and another living well on $500.
What if I don't have a job or don't know how to earn even $500 a month?
While remote work isn't the core focus, but there's a lesson on it, and finding a way to earn $500 a month is more doable than most people think. I do remote work myself. There are also places and people who offer room and board in exchange for work.
What are your criteria for the destinations you cover?
Cost and safety. Nothing on the list scores below a 50% overall safety rating.
What about LGBTQ+ and BIPOC travelers?
I share insights on safety and acceptance, drawn from my own experience as part of the LGBTQ+ community, from friends and other travelers, and from available data. Nothing is guaranteed, since everyone's experience differs, but I give you an honest starting picture.
