Anticipatory Regrets Journal

Expat on a Budget, AKA Living Abroad on a Budget!

This is for the Journal of Anticipatory Regrets

These are the questions I asked myself before making my move to Europe and I'm super excited to share them with you!

"Anticipatory regret" is the idea of considering how you might feel about your choices in the future, particularly if they lead to negative outcomes.

Self-projection is thinking about your future self and encourages you to project into the future, helping you visualize your long-term goals, aspirations, and the kind of person you want to become.

This journal can help you move forward by creating a strong emotional connection to your future self which can enhance your commitment to your goals.

When you see your future self as a real entity, it becomes easier to make sacrifices in the present.

Overcoming cognitive biases by thinking about your future self can help counteract biases like the "present bias," where individuals prioritize immediate rewards over long-term benefits.

I can't wait to help you move forward on your upcoming adventure! ~Kimberly Anne
